Dioxazine Violet
Series 6
Lightfast rating excellent BWS 8/7/7
Tinting strength 5 out of 5
Dioxazine Violet is a dark blue violet. Appearing as a deep black in masstone, it has an astronomical tinting strength meaning that a little goes a very long way. It is advisable to avoid using neat when mixing as it is near impossible to gauge its strength (tint with white or a large ratio of binder first to give better control). Though it is beautifully transparent when diluted with copious amounts of binder, it very quickly becomes opaque when mixed with even small amounts of white.
We have decided to offer this pigment at it's full strength as a series 6 colour, which due to its strength offers far better value compared to lowering the pigment load and offering it as a lower series price. This dispersion will last for a long time.
